Join the set

Apply, be reviewed, receive a seeded bond, join jailed, unjail yourself, be seated — and the rules of the set.

Validators join on the testnet first.

Apply

Apply at vordium.com/run-a-validator with your join request, signed with your validator key. There is no bond and no fee to apply.

Reviewed by Vordium

Vordium reviews each application.

Seeded

An accepted validator's bond is seeded by Vordium: 10,000 VORD. Until the token generation event the validator keeps 10% of its rewards; a seeded seat is locked for one year. After it, validators bond their own VORD and keep their full rewards.

Joins jailed

A new validator enters the set jailed, so it cannot be seated before its node has caught up with the chain.

Unjails itself

Once its node has caught up, the validator sends an unjail request (Jail and unjail).

Seated

It is seated from the next epoch.
